The air-ride Platform is amazing in its own right. For the HD truck owner who prioritizing hauling over all else, it?s the clear choice. Both lift height we developed maintain perfect functionality of the air suspension (load leveling and alt. trailer height) so the end user is only left deciding which lift height better suits their application. The 3.25? System offers better front and rear geometry with less yaw (lateral suspension movement) all while boasting more front suspension travel. The Leveling system offers a more budget minded solution designed to squeeze the maximum performance of which the factory geometry is capable.
3.25? Leveling Coil Springs:
Your truck will sit 3?-3.5? higher in the front (cab configuration dependent) with 50% more suspension travel than the factory platform thanks to the taller, lighter rate coil springs. These springs are shot-peened, pre-set and powder coated to ensure optimal performance and finish longevity!
Front, Adjustable Track Bar:
When lifting the front end of a straight axle truck, the front axle is pulled off-center unless the proper linkages are addressed. Three inches of front lift equates to an axle shifted toward the driver?s side 3/4? and, in the radius arm equipped Rams, lightened caster and slight rearward axle shift. This system includes an Adjustable Track Bar to push the axle back toward the passenger side and provide a stronger link with less deflection for the lifted application.
Front Bump Stop Drop Brackets:
Ensures proper cycling of the front suspension withe the extended travel shocks provided.
Radius Arm Drop Brackets:
Ensure perfect caster alignment (no need to max adjustments), correct geometry and spring pressures ensuring no bow in your coil spring.
Choice of Torsion Sway Bar or Drop Brackets for the Factory Sway Bar:
When pairing added down-travel with the taller ride height, the position of the factory, front sway bar will need to be altered as well. For this, Carli offers two options; Billet Sway Bar Drop Brackets or the replacement Torsion Sway Bar. The Billet Drop Blocks shift the sway bar down and forward to ensure the factory end links cycle properly throughout the entire extended travel range. Carli?s optional Torsion sway bar removes the entire factory sway bar assembly replacing it with a torsion bar supported by fabricated drop brackets and delrin bushings. Fabricated sway bar arms and dual 5/8? FK heim end links round off the package. This is the single best bang for the buck, ride-quality upgrade offered by Carli Suspension.
Shock Package:
The Backcountry 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best ride on and off-road on a budget; perfect for those that want to have a little dirt-road fun in their 8,500lb truck without losing the on-road ride quality or usability for which the truck was designed. You?re no longer limited to the highway while gravel roads become uninteresting as you can drive them at speed with one hand on the wheel. Utilizing Fox 2.0? Remote Reservoir Shocks, Carli has developed a shock tune that delivers all around comfort and ride quality designed for on-road, in town, highway, towing/hauling as well as slow to mid speed off road use. The Fox 2.0s boast extruded aluminum construction with a clear anodizing for corrosion resistance, are fully rebuildable and are built with hour-glass bushings in the rod-ends. Fox builds these shocks with their legendary red shock oil that flows well down to -55* F.
This system boasts Carli specific, blueprinted, King 2.5? shocks on all four corners. In an effort to provide customers with the best product, we designed a custom piston to determine proper base flow rates to ensure the shock works well in the heavy duty truck platform; they then tuned the shocks around the custom pistons based on the only thing that matters to us, seat-of-the-pants feel. Carli round off ALL our King shocks with shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King?s standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather is far less likely to hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn?t damaged as they?re not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55* F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, we recommend wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that?s replaceable.
Rear Track Bar Drop Bracket:
Drops the factory rear track bar to be as flat as possible at the center of travel ensuring minimal ?yaw? ? side to side wag of rear suspension during the suspension cycle.
Rear Extended Sway Bar End Links:
Accommodates the dropped geometry of the rear end.
Airbag Spacer:
Ensures proper airbag position for lifted height.
Extended Rear Sensor Link:
Full Metal (steel ends, aluminum body) Links to set the ride height.
Rear Bump Stop Drop Brackets:
The bump stop drops work with the airbag spacer to ensure the bag is protected in its new position.
The link construction for the 3.25? Systems is the same as the Leveling, just a different length. Same goes for the bump stop drops. The spacer construction is simpler on the 3.25? system as Csrli is able to utilize the factory stud on the airbag to mount it to the spacer AND bolt the spacer to the axle without the two fasteners interfering.
This system will fit up to a 37? tire when utilizing wheels that are no more than 9? wide with 5.75-6? of backspacing. A 12.5? wide should fit with no rubbing on the factory radius arm and only minor trimming required, while a 13.5? will require more trimming and slightly more offset to fit properly. 35? tires will fit with VERY minimal, if any trimming. We Recommend running an 18? diameter wheel for optimal ride quality (more rubber = better small bump compliance) on a 35?-37? E-rated tire running 45psi front, 40psi rear when unloaded.
